A gunshot sounded behind him. Feathers bursts from one of his wings as a result. Miasma now oozed from the small cuts and nicks across the wing structure, not enough to elicit the kind of interest the shooter was looking for. But damage had been so insignificant that it made the action behind it utterly senseless. This trail of thought, the sense of baseless hope oh so very akin to humans behind the action, was what diverted Wryneck from enjoying his puppet destroy what he (presumably) loved. He looked unto the hidden gunner with eyes void of any compassion.
-WRYNECK: Of course it was another human...Only your kind would want to change the course of fate itself with something so useless as hope.
He lifted a hand, concentrating darkness upon its tip anew. It would be oh so sweet out another ray of hope that Wryneck couldn't help but smile to himself and show his sharp teeth at Nakian.
A spell hit him before he could finish gathering the dark element. It came as a large pillar of light that suddenly pierced through his barrier, bathing him in its warm feeling. It did no damage. It tore no moan of pain or agony from him. It was simply...light. A light he recognized all too well.
Wryneck spun toward the group. It was Aurora. She glowed faintly among the other two humans. Her light pulsed ever stronger as she directed her spell and, unbeknownst to her, it actually heightened the spell far beyond its intended target. The pillar of light expanded at an explosive rate. Where it touched, shadows scattered or cleared away.
All of his darkness...with one strike...
gone.
The light of the full moon, which had been absent until that moment, now humbly cast its presence upon the field. Far off forests became visible. Stars glittered faintly against their black backdrop. Wryneck staggered as a wave of dizziness struck him. But as soon as it came it passed and he was well on his feet again.
But something was wrong. His eyes became wild as his vision expanded to the surroundings. Not a single of his shadows remained. His previous wounds, which had healed to to perfection, had reopened and now bled through in the form of smoking tendrils. He gave one last, desperate look at himself and then at the gathered group, shouting.
-WRYNECK: You! What did you do!?
His God Status had been removed. Aurora's light had purified the entire surrounding. His voice became low and poisonous.
-WRYNECK: I see it is impossible to bring you back alive. He will be upset, but it cannot be helped.
It was unclear to whom
he referred to. A double-headed spear thundering with dark element materialized into his hand. As if to make matters worse for him, the humans had somehow managed to break his Dark Puppet control.
The God's wings snapped open and as if on cue, shadow beasts emerged from the ground. They closely resembled panthers, but they had six legs, overly large mouths, and a pair of blades sticking out of their shoulders.
-WRYNECK: I shall end this now!
He sent a beast after each one of the players and then stepped forward himself toward Aurora, his spear lifting, ready to drive through an innocent heart.
