Chapter 4 Synopsis...
The attempt of
Twilight and
Sheraton to send their rescuers back into the past so they could find more
[Lost Gods] had gone awfully wrong. Not only did the powers of Twilight explode out of his control, indiscriminately trapping a multitude of arbitrary players into a mysterious server in The World’s lore. He also caused all other servers of The World to crash and go offline, forcing CC Corp to announce the game as “down for repairs” for a short period of time. A great deal of excitement spread throughout the real world, reaching the local news stations.
Afterward, all users who tried to reconnect back into the game, despite the downtime announcement, were being transferred into a new server known as the
Twilight Server. Everyone understood quickly that the server was out of the ordinary. Strange events where taking place throughout the server areas. It was later realized that these events were all related one way or another to the lore in which The World was based off.
Amidst all the stuff that was going on, four particular events stood out:
The destruction of Carmina Gadelica,
The sinking of the Aerial City Fort Ouph,
The firing of the canon at Lia Fail, and
The great battle at Coite-Bodher.
The ancient light city Carmina Gadelica had appeared in the server while in the process of being destroyed by the
God of Lightning, Lanceor. But, for some reason, the course of events as had been stated in The World’s history had gone awry and, although it had seemed like a bad idea at first, everyone agreed to correct the flow of time. After many misfortunes and even a prank by another god, the players who had arrived at Carmina had successfully amended history.
All the other players spread through the other cities had come to the same conclusion. To continue correcting The World’s history, they either helped the Gods destroy the ancient cities, or fought against them to save current ones. Thus, Fort Ouph was brought down by the
God of the Sun,
Taranis,
Wryneck, God of Darkness, was unable to stop the canon at Lia Fail from firing and destroying the god’s realm, and the
Dragon God Magmell’s attempt to devour Mac Anu was thwarted and he was later sealed at the famous Coite-Bodher.
In the end, the Twilight Dragon visited one place after the other, transporting the players back into the “present” and out of the Twilight Server. The entire fiasco lasted for 3 days before CC Corp was able to get The World back online whereas the Twilight Server became inaccessible.
