PLOT DEVELOPMENT
Chapter 3 Synopsis...
A different type of news becomes a hot topic in the forum community. There had previously been speculations of an ultra secret event hidden in an impossibly hard field commonly known as "The Frozen Wasteland". A field with no visibility, seemingly no ending, and no survival due to the permanent Freeze status you were stuck with after going in. And even if you did manage to somehow bypass these impossible odds, a terrible monster with seemingly impenetrable super armor and outright godly stats was there to meet you at the end. But despite all this, a group of daring adventurers did managed to beat the field!
It took over headlines everywhere in the gaming world, but no one had actually talked with the "Heroes" yet. They were strangely being silent...When the group was found out they remained stubborn still about divulging how exactly they beat the event.
Meanwhile, a different sort of event was happening over at Phi Server. The elf npc girl, Elfen, had been spotted playing around in a certain field. Raven, the Nightsever, was first to arrive at the scene and question her. However, Elfen fled in fear of Raven, whom was left no choice but to give chase. Seeing that she could never outrun the speedy Nightsever, Elfen resorted to...battling him?
No. She did try to attack him, but it ended in a miserable failure. At that moment, whilst her cries filled the area, a doppelganger was suddenly born from a data bug to protect the elf child from Raven. It was at this moment that Douken, the Nine-dragon Beastman, and Vance Finiraldi, The Reborn God of Lanceor, intervened. After arriving, the both of them quickly read the situation and jumped into the fray. Only...they were helping Elfen instead of Raven, whose goal was to kill Elfen in the hopes of defeating the data bug along with her.
Raven's attempt was foiled and Elfen saved. The elf child disappeared quickly after the coast became clear, taking the doppelganger with her. The remaining players went back to Elfen's previous location and discovered she had not been merely playing, but trying to release a being trapped within a shrine. The mysterious entity cursed Douken into finding a way to release him (and almost stabbed through Vance in the process).
Luckily for Douken, the item needed to release the entity from its prison was in the hands of none other than the Heroes that defeated The Frozen Wasteland event. After meeting them, all of them decided to travel back to the shrine together, with the addition of several more players along; Gabriel, a Harvest Cleric and Icarus the Lord Nightwing, who lurked in the shadows.
All of them traveled together and met once more with the sealed entity. At this time two more players, Shadow, a Vangrant AI, and Kitsune the Savage, dropped in after being tipped by Raven about the meeting that was going to take place. After a brief skirmish with some shadow dragons guarding the shrine, the players successfully released the sealed being with the item and discovered there was another sealed entity in the item that was the key to the shrine! The two sealed beings were none other than Sheraton, The Interpreter of the Signs, and Twilight, the famously known Twilight Dragon.
The two dragons were apparently already up to date with Cernunnos' activities for gathering the Lost Gods. Their advice on how to proceed was rather simple - according to them. "Travel to a time where the Gods still exist.", they said. And they meant it! The two dragons joined magic forces to send all the gathered players back into the past and collect more reborn gods, but after doing so, something terrible happened.
Twilight's power suddenly went out of control, spreading continuously throughout the field and breaking out into the system, where it proliferated until the system overloaded. As a result, all computers and devices connected to The World at that time shut down. CC Corp had no choice but to e-mail everyone and declare The World as 'temporarily under repairs' and inaccessible.
In the midst of all the confusion, Head Programmer Rukishi Hiro seems to already have an idea of who was behind this system failure. And it seems to be someone outside the game?
