Type: Dungeon
Once a place where steadfast mortals sent heartfelt prayers to Gods on high, it has now become nothing more than ruin. The former holy ground is littered with the remnants of battle between those who still regarded Gods favorably and their brethren who could only see deities as the enemy. The landscape, despite the damage, retains an eerie splendor but the temple where the devote sought refuge barely stands on the uneven plateau.
Centipede was entirely sure that he was ready for this. A higher level dungeon for him to venture with his low level PC. And as he stared at the landscape the audio and music filling his ears his courage began to waver ever so slightly. Okay. He was probably not entirely sure... Just sure enough? Kinda.
Sorta? 'Dammit! Why am I hesitating now of all times? I planned coming here over half the morning! Can't chicken out now!' He thought his dual colored eyes staring at the entrance to the dungeon.
Shaking his head he crossed his arms hoping to calm his nerves. It couldn't be that bad right? It was just a dungeon! ...Right? It wasn't like he could die in real life or something... He hoped. With a breath intake he finally managed to push the worried and paranoia ridden thoughts of his to the far back of his mind.
'No... I won't back out. I'm stronger than this.' If his thoughts had a "voice" the usually timid sounding one was slowly morphing into a more confident one. Slightly deeper. Raspier. And darker.
But the player known as Centipede was not aware of this and instead felt the confidence swell through him as the last flicker of fear left his eyes. A slightly sinister smirk appearing on his lips before something startled him out of his revere.
Turning around at the sound of someone gating in blue and red eyes stared at the newcomer wary and uncertain with an under laying apprehension. Who was this person? And why was he here? Deciding the best course of action was to let the mysterious person come to him Centipede remained quiet, his stare stony yet judging.
| This was going to prove to be quite the interseting adventure for Raven, it had been quite sometime since he had met with Snow personally. It had been even longer since the two of them had done anything remotely close to 'dungeoning' together. The last having been when he was still with Sarah, and those days seemed like such a distant memories within the mind of the young assassin. His personal life had such a dramatic effect on how he played this game, and he was only now starting to see how careless he was becoming. He didn't care though. Besides those were thoughts that needed to be carefully mauled over when he wasn't trying to drown them away. Like he was trying to do today. This day with Snow as all about trying to relax and forget about all of his mistakes, of how he had let himself get so wrapped inside of this game that his personal life had become something of ruin. He folded his arms tightly against his chest as his character began to form within the area outside of the dungeon. The place showed clear signs of battles having torn through it several times, and the remains of dead bodies turned into bone were littered the area around the Chaos Gate. Despite how disheveled the entire area looked, it still held an odd sense of a splinder. It was easy to tell it was once used as a place of worship, but the reason for the piles of bones was left up to the imagination. Raven wanted to assume that it was the site of a great Holy War that had turned bad for the side worshiping their gods. He had no idea how close to the truth he really was. He took a couple of steps forward and did his best to avoid stepping down on any of the bones, the last thing he wanted was to disrespect the dead. He had feeling do something akin to that would cause bad things to play out for him and he wasn't even within the dungeon yet. As he began his path deeper into the area he finally began to take notice of a figure in the distance looking towards his direction, at first the thought of it being Snow crossed his mind but that was quickly tossed aside. This man had no tail or ears to speak of he, much like Raven himself was human. Someone else had beat both Raven and Snow into the area, hopefully they could keep up with them. "Yo." Raven spoke with a wave of his hand and gave a brief smile as he fully approached the man, his hands went up to his head in an attempt to make cat ears. "You've not seen a white haired Beastmen like this running around have you? Kinda suppose to be doing something with him today." the look on Raven's face was a very serious one, he hardly ever saw Snow look relaxed. Hopefully he had seen the cat though, otherwise he'd spend half his time waiting for him to get here. | TAGS @name NOTES notes |
| What the hell was he thinking? He had to look like such an idiot right now, but it was really the only way he could think of to fully get the idea of Snow across. He was a white haired Beastmen with cat ears that walked around with a rather serious face, and a deep sounding voice. Wow...now that he put like that inside of his head it probably would have been easier to just explain, rather than attempt to act it out. Oh well, you could just chalk this up to another one of the goofy things that Raven would eventually become known for around The World. Despite the fact his little attempt to appear like Snow had failed Raven didn't bother to bring his hands down from his head, and instead went about answering questions as he was. "Yeah tackling the dungeon was the plan, but if he doesn't show up I might as well find something else to do with my time. Soloing can be a bit of drag." plus taking on anything alone now was like asking for something dangerous to happen. Which he really wasn't in the mood for today, relaxing was the goal not fighting for his life. The guy wanted to take on the dungeon himself as well, but since he was level ten he figured doing it was going to be a bit of problem. Of course it was going to be to problem for him, this was a high level dungeon. It had to be, he didn't see Snow picking out anything he could just breeze through. Raven did take note of the fact he was having a hard time getting his words out, the guy must have been a little shy. That or Raven had totally thrown him off his game by trying to act like a Beastmen, but he was just going to chalk it up as shy. It made him feel as though this situation was far less awkward than it actually was. The stranger appeared as though he was about to ask to join along when he was cut off by the sound of Snow's rather intimidating. It was little bit more on edge than it normally was. Yet it still held a certain level of boredom within it. Raven let out a small chuckle as he dropped his hands and let his arms fold against his chest, "I was just asking this lovely newbie if he had seen you, wanted to really capture your essence" it was a light joke, he was hoping it help Snow's mood but he doubted it. "Took so long was starting to think you had just changed your mind." it actually it hadn't been as long as Raven was making it out to be, he had only just gotten into the area himself. He turned his head to the side slightly as he looked towards the person he didn't know, and he spoke once more. This time he sounded much more sure of himself, and it had actually taken Raven by surprise. If the voice didn't sound the same he'd have thought it was an entirely different person playing the character. He wanted to tag along though, that much Raven had already figured out before he had even asked. He made sure to mentioned the fact he was a lower level though, and that despite this he wouldn't slow either of them down. Raven gave a shrug of his shoulders and looked towards Snow, "I don't care if he comes, but its' really up to you. Just know you're not going to make me babysit him if things get intense." he was not going to be the one saving the new guys ass if shit hit the fan, or at least that was what he told himself. He knew that if it really came down to it he'd help the guy out, especially if the game started acting funny. The Nightserever readjusted his stance and began to move towards the entrance of the dungeon, his hand pressing itself against the door. His head turned itself back towards the others, "I'm Raven by the way, and that's Snow. Figure it be best to get the introductions out of the way now, don't want it slowing us down later." look at him sounding so serious, it was a little odd. Normally he loved to have these kind of conversations, but lately he just wanted to get things done. Something popped into his head as he stared at the door and waited for Snow and whoever the new guy was to figure out what they were doing. He pulled up his inventory and clicked on the name of his pet dragon, Oreo. The option to summon him was available and because the young dragon lacked any kind of experience he figured now would be the best time to get him some. The small black dragon appeared next to Raven with a flash of light and let out a huff as it did so. The damn thing had an attitude problem, he'd probably mess around inside of its coding at some point and fix that. Maybe, it seemed like more of hassle to do it than anything else. | He couldn't hear the full conversation going on between the two of them but every once in awhile Raven would catch the last couple of words, or an entire sentence of what Snow was saying. He could only chuckle lightly at it though, it was Snow being...well Snow. His words were rude, but in his own way Raven felt as though Snow was trying to look out for the kid. He wasn't fully aware of the kind of danger this game could pose and if it did come to pass, neither of them could spend their entire time making sure he didn't slip into a coma. In the past Raven might have gone out of his way to ensure the kid didn't come to harm, but that was then and this was now. The hero idea that was present within Raven's mind during his earlier time within The World had all but faded into a distant memory within his memories. He pulled himself away from his thoughts once more to click on the request from Snow, and then to add Centipede into his friends list. Deleting it after all of this might have been a good idea but Raven already knew that he wouldn't do it. He might actually end up needing the guy for something later on and this just made it easier to get in contact with him. Raven darted his eyes up towards his small black Dragon and then back towards Snow when he sent him a message, and he gave a roll of his eyes towards the cat. "Probably won't, Oreo might though." as if the small level zero dragon could have done anything to help keep Centipede safe. It wasn't like Centipede knew that though right? "Besides I don't play hero all the time, sometimes gotta let the word just flow." oh god how stupid did that just sound? Probably really stupid and cheesy but oh well too late to take any of it back. Raven pointed a finger towards Centipede who had the most blank expression on his face that Raven had ever seen, "Protect him Oreo, make sure none of the bad monsters eat him up." the small dragon roared out in protest against the thought of keeping someone safe, but he still listened. Oreo made his way towards Centipede and floated above his head, his red eyes glaring at the white haired boy. Raven was being a little mean here, but he couldn't fight the urge to poke fun at the level ten a little bit. Besides a little bit of hazing never hurt anyone did it? Actually now that he was thinking about it there was that one guy in his college that...oh never mind. Everyone was gathered at the mossy stone door that lead into the dungeon and while Centipede was sticking back for obvious reasons Raven and Snow led the charge. It was more like Raven led the charge though as with one solid kick from his foot the doors flew open and the smell of death entered into his nose. He tried to keep himself from gagging, "Oh lord it smells like my cooking." he muttered in a bad attempt at a joke before making his way slowly down the stone lined path. His twin swords were gripped very tightly inside of his hands, and he made sure to pay extra close attention to the corners of his eyes. In places like this you had to, that's how the enemies got the jump on you. The white hair trio kept walking down the long and seemingly endless path until they came to a rather open room and this being a place of worship of course it was filled with various rows of bleachers. At the very upper portion of the room and in front of rows of seats was a podium. Raven's mind did what it did best and began to picture the types of ceremonies that went down in the room. Whatever it was couldn't have been good though because various bits of blood were splattered around the room of worship. Some of the bloodstains looked as though they had been there for awhile, others looked as if they fresh. "Strange it's almost like someone has been here before us, and it doesn't look like they got out okay..." he said in an almost hush voice. He then took notice of the pathway right behind the podium should they keep going, or look around a bit first? "So Snow, you want to look around the room see if we can't find anything interesting or keep moving?" | TAGS @name NOTES notes |
