ell, Leyfalia did speak the truth. He was pretty slow, though that was a given since he was handwriting all of this with less-than-optimal materials, and that he was handwriting all of this in the first place. Love wasn't some bit of fruit to be wrung out for all of the juice that it held. As well, he was Mouse's boyfriend. That part did make him feel a little fuzzy inside, and the mere reminder did make his heart jump in excitement. Really, from the angle that he'd chosen to take, the white-haired menace's words propped him up more than they deflated him.
Though, without the letters to give to their intended recipient, who was now beside him, disappointment did momentarily cross his features. But, so did a warm red as Mouse leaned into his blue ear to murmur. "O-oh." He replied with a whisper of his own, first turning his head so that his lips were towards hers, brushing a slight kiss against her cheek in passing.
"It would be my pleasure. Sometime soon, then..." When she went on to retrieve a brush of her own, his smile grew wider, and he began work on his own once she had returned. As Leyfalia noted, he did take quite a bit of time, but it wasn't on account of a loss for words. It was more like there were too many words for him to parse through. Yet, it was also a process that he did not want to end so quickly.
As soon as she set her letter over for Leyfalia to take, he slid his over as well, making sure that the text faced upwards for Mouse to read.
Dearest Mouse,
Though I recognize the cliche of beginning a love letter like so, it is no hyperbole to say that my love for you is an unemptiable cup. No matter how much of its contents are poured from the vessel, it shall forever pour as a deluge.
I had never thought that I'd ever experience a concept so vaunted as love, something that I had only recognized as an immeasurable force in numerous fairy tales and stories. But, like a brush wielded by a careful hand, our shared experiences and challenges painted a truer definition in my mind; it was one that resonated with me far more than any other, because this love was entirely ours.
You've an exceptionally powerful heart, having seen it for myself. It is strong and ever-enduring, yet warm and welcoming. And I am glad that my own is tied to it. That you stand tall despite all that you've faced is encouragement enough for me to stand against that which I must face as well. You make me so much stronger, in turn, than I have ever been. Thus, everything that I am and much more belongs to you.
And it emboldens me that I've such a brilliant star to hold in my hands, in turn.
Love,
GorreAfter giving her enough time to read it for herself, and before both letters could be snatched away, he rose from his seat, and went to take them, reading over Mouse's with a deeper blush that momentarily overtook the blue of his face. A sensation welled up in his chest, and with a smile, he quietly spoke to her:
"I love you too."With the last love letters in tow, he took them over to the nearest cauldron, and neatly folded them together before setting them within the bubbling brew. A few turns of the ladle and a bit of careful fanning of the flames later,
and the whole set of 7 Peach Brews was finally complete!
