"To be honest, I really haven't wanted to think about it, since then." Nao sighed, his brow creasing ever so slightly at the unwelcome memory. Not all of his memories of R:2 were that bad, but... this one. This one he really had gone out of his way to not think about since it'd happened.
Even as he'd continued being glued to Online Jack.
"But I do remember that, and I agree with what you're saying. Though it's ridiculous to someone like me, I doubt Xiang would consider hijacking someone's consciousness an impossibility. It would've just been lovely to live in a world where something worse wasn't brewing, as funny as that may sound."
Nao drummed the armrest with the fingers of his free hand, while his other was busy rubbing circles onto Yemon's back, arm holding on tighter in contrast to his nearly nonchalant tone. He only loosened his hold to let his fiance pull back when he made the moves to do so. At Yemon's words, his lips twitch into something like a smile, almost amused.
"Of course I wasn't, Yemon. You know you are the brains in this relationship. How could I possibly let you enjoy your life in peace when I have a need for said brains?" He poked him gently on the chest. "... That said, you know I would have, if I thought for a second that you would appreciate such a gesture. At any rate, I do believe that CC Corp has some form of documentation on this. In fact..."
He trailed off as something in the back of his mind resurfaced. A few briefly forgotten words.
"... Xiang said that they never got rid of it. That it was there, all along... I think he was talking about the game. I'm not fully confident whether he was talking about his own research, or something else, but still, that may be something to look into. It may be preferable to going straight into sneaking around the headquarters, anyway."
