An outburst of white noise met them instead of the expected moon and stars, capturing their vision violently. All sounds seized like thunder that steals the rain...
The screen came back to life after a few seconds.
A new, entirely different map surrounded them, its ambient sounds rushing in to fill the previously silent void.
Both players now found themselves just stepping out of a subway station, into what seemed like the middle of a drowned, apocalyptic Tokyo downtown area.
"Don't be alarmed, Sid, it's just a simulation," a silhouette approached from behind them. The shadows receeded as it stepped into the light, revealing a man in a lab coat with an old visage, a button-down shirt, and dark trousers. Looking to be in his early 40s, the man lifted his arms in mock surrender, his eyes full of sympathetic wrinkles.
"I promised I'd show you where I come from, but alas, her mental state is not good these days and this is the result. I warned you this could happen. You can't blame me."
The mystery man seemed to be trying to engage in conversation with Ornery but, cocked a brow at Noblesse' direction. Honestly, he looked shocked by the sight. Sid wasn't exactly known to drag any sort of entity along with him.
"...I didn't expect you to bring company. So—did you consider my proposal?"
