The approach was sudden and the little girl didn't give C much time to respond to her before a familiar face showed up and chimed in with her usual friendly greeting and an absolutely top notch interpersonal skill.
"Mouse!" She welcomed a friend as she let the girl hold on to her clothes, determined to make C an accomplice in a game to alleviate her boredom.
"Such a pleasant surprise to bump into you here." Before she had any time to explain what had transpired so far, the elven girl's eyes sparkled once again at Mouse's question, her smile grew even wider as she instantly replied to the Wavemaster's invitation.
"Yes, a game! Let's play, let's play! Are you going to play, too, big sis?" C thought about what game they could play as she placed her thinking fingers on her chin. Though it did strike her as odd,
entertaining an NPC like this might have been part of a series of random quests that [The World] was experimenting with lately. And everything had been looking normal to C, nothing to be suspicious of around here.
She was about to suggest a game to Mouse and the elven girl when another male PC with bright red hair spotted them, then offered some of his time to join them as he claimed to be waiting for a friend. Something about his fishing statement struck her as even odder than this elven girl's sudden request, but C supposed it wasn't much of a concern to be addressed immediately.
"Sure, why not? What do you think, little girl? Would you mind if this big brother join us, too?" "The more the merrier!" The elven girl cheered at C's question, this time flailing her arms in childish joy to show that she sincerely was excited at the notion of more players participating in a game with her.
"My name is Elfen, by the way. I can play anything you want, but I really hate losing." A solemn expression invaded her features when she honestly expressed her firm dislike toward losing.
"So you have to play fair, because I'm good at games and if I lose it means you're cheating! I hate people who beat me in games." C almost wanted to laugh at the innocence Elfen displayed; she clearly stated she didn't want to lose, and it was easy for them to lose on purpose if they had to entertain Elfen. Since they had Elfen's approval, C sent her member address to Nikolai - that was what the red-haired male PC's name was - and promptly invited him and Mouse to join her party.
"Okay, Elfen. Since there's a winning and a losing side to this, what will the winner gets for their victory?" A simple gesture to converse with a child, wasn't it?
"Uhmm..." Elfen hummed, clearly thinking about how best to reply to C's inquiry. The girl smiled, then
"If I win, you have to buy candy for Elfen!""And if, say, we win?" "...Then Elfen will share something worth the victory you earn. I am a fair elf, after all." As soon as Elfen finished her end of the bargain, a mystery quest popped up on each player's UI. Upon giving it a read, C now noticed that they most certainly needed to win - and without making Elfen cry before she noticed she was on the losing side. Oof, talk about a troublesome quest to complete...
C exchanged glances with her two party members, swallowed nervously before bringing up the important topic that would ultimately determine their success at this quest's completion:
"So! What should we play?" She wasn't sure if this Nikolai was up to something
fishy or if he would know something about what was up with this strange quest; but C knew for sure that some shock would have surfaced on Mouse's fair countenance. But in the presence of an unfamiliar stranger, C didn't want to appear too obvious about what little bits and pieces that she knew and had associated with the name 'Cernunnos.'
Name: The girl who cried "Cernunnos!"
Summary: Elfen hasn't had a play mate in forever; not since her parents got into that huge scuffle and won't give her the time of day now. The thought of following Elfed, that bully brother of hers, around to play didn't even cross her mind. Maybe she can quench her solace with some of the town's folk, as usual? Elfen, a quiet, but bubbly little elf child, will be poking people around the root town, at the Lakeside Ruins, looking for someone to play a children's game with. All other passerby players ignored her, but you sure won't, right? How could you say no to that adorable baby fat? The quest will commence immediately after you accept to play a game with Elfen. She will ask you to set the rules of the games and all party members involved will have to play a round or two with her until she is satisfied. She will warp out of the zone after she's had her fun.
Details:
- Elfen is well known for being a crybaby. She will immediately start crying if she feels like she is losing.
