The structure of Fort Ouph, crafted by elves to challenge the gods, but instead were turned to humans by challenging them. Next were the elves who questioned why they, too, were punished by not holding them back and got turned to beasts. Eras later, the Fort was once more in action, but more of a tourist attraction than anything else. The "locals" were elves who wandered the roads and shops while the humans and beasts just took it all in like it was a planned update to nostalgia.
Douken wasn't here for nostalgia, though.
With the pack on his back deploying, the wolf found himself leaping into the air and towards the Wold Tree, using them to push higher and higher until he found himself a thick branch he could lay upon, pure skies above shining down, yet still far enough up that the average folk would dare not overhear or see his actions so easily.
"To think all of this could be considered basking in your terrain, Terranis," he found himself saying, the warm light washing over his fur in the same golden hue. "You watch over the land with such a gentle glow, watching your children work to improve before that fateful day." He pulled his paw into his coat to pull out a long-familiar item to him: the Elven Coin. "Its still funny to think it all started with that child, looking for simple answers that led us here."
The wind rustled the leaves around him as he flipped the coin back to the center of his hand and rested it on his chest before closing his eyes. The fort was in a state of peace that he could feel wash over him, but still found himself muttering, "If only I could understand you more..."
