"Me! It's me! I, me, myself! I'm the best, cutest, and scrungiest lizard kitty this world has ever seen!" Ornery laughed, twirling on one foot after Noblesse had had his fun petting Ornery on the big dumb head. He could have a little bit of serotonin, as a treat wedged between all the things that were definitely not going to reflect well on his mental health.
He reached up to pet Noblesse between his own fancy new cat ears in return, ruffling his hair with his tongue stuck out between his teeth - one of the most profoundly concentrated expressions Ornery was capable of.
So focused was he on this act that he'd almost not noticed Gorre and Mouse arriving at the Quest Shop to pick up their own ears - almost, because even Ornery couldn't ignore people speaking in direct proximity to him unless he was very, very tired.
At least, he couldn't ignore them by accident. He'd pretended not to hear people often enough, in the past.
"Whoa! You two look adorable! Or, maybe... nyadorable, eh? Eh? Okay, I accept that that's probably the shittiest joke I've made within the past, I don't know, twelve hours, but I had to make it!"
He rubbed his hands and put his fingers in a frame shape, squinting at each of his companions in turn.
"And now that we're all gathered here... I'm gonna take pictures! Individually and, uh, together. Nobs, Gorre, if'n you wanna strike some kinda pose, now's the time!"
And so, Ornery got to work doing exactly that. Shaders - on. Lighting - adjusted. Graphic settings - already maxed out, because he's obnoxious like that. UI - hidden. He was all ready to begin snapping screenshots, only pausing for long enough to let everyone pose themselves however they wanted.
He took care of his own individual shots last, indulgently posing for a shot of himself doing the kitty paw hands, a shot of himself doing an ear flick, a shot of himself looking like a pleading kitten, a shot of himself winking at the camera...! Oh, Ornery loved his own character design, and his screenshot folder was already rather overpopulated. Not even the knowledge that he looked like an idiot to anyone watching him pose dissuaded him.
"... Right! Now, group pic! Gather up!" Ornery suddenly called out, unnecessarily. "Imagine the cameraman's riiight over there! We gotta all look in the same direction or it'll look silly!" He pointed ahead, shuffling into position - where the "position" was "clinging to Noblesse, tail twisted into a rough heart shape". All he needed to do now was to wait for everybody to position themselves as they wanted before he snapped the final set of group pictures.
(If they proved uncooperative, he'd snap group pictures anyway - they'd simply be a little more chaotic than he envisioned. That was fine. Chaos was good, unless it was a consequence of someone rummaging around his workspace. Then it wasn't good at all.)
Eventually, he'd send the pictures to Mouse, and surely, she would send them to Gorre once she'd picked out the best ones.
Noblesse would simply have to deal with Ornery forcing him to look at the entire folder.
It's the "you're going to get married to this idiot" mental tax.
